Result Oriented Thinking

For our music selection I have chosen one of those songs that are good for a try to name the artist contest. It is a song that I love and really the only song from this artist that I get into. The song almost seems like a prayer, which is intriguing. So, sit back and listen to this while you read the rest of my ramblings. When you are done, try to name the artist.

Ladies, I ran across something by accident. I was searching the web for "Italian Personality". I was doing this because of something Cesar Millan mentioned on the Dog Whisperer. He told the lady to project her Italian personality, as if an Italian personality is naturally controlling. This interested me because my wife is Italian and I think one of my issues is how I deal with controlling types. I don't think of myself as controlling. I think of myself as passive, but when I get too frustrated I jump to the other end of the spectrum and lay down the law. This ain't good.

So, what did I find on my search? I found something totally unrelated to what I had hoped to find, but something who's subject tickled the crap out of me. It basically describes how a woman's personality is defined by the shape of her boobs. Okay, stop calling me a sexist bastard and
read it for yourself. I am not saying I believe it. I am saying it was interesting.

I had an interesting chat session with someone the other day. They got me thinking about a lot of things: religions, extra terestrial life, ghosts, psychic ability. These things are all interesting subjects. There are people who blog arguing one way or the other on many subjects like this.

It occurred to me that what really matters isn't things such as if God exists or if Billy Bob got kidnapped by aliens. If your life is better because you believe Elvis is God, what is important isn't that you seem to have a wacky idea. What is important is that your life is better. For someone to argue the point about Elvis with you is unimportant and detrimental. If you are better off believing that, keep believing and say a prayer to the king for me.

There is another good example. There are psychics that help police departments solve cases. Now, if they are able to help because they committed the crime, that is one thing, but if they are able to help because the are very perceptive or really psychic doesn't matter. What matters is that they are able to help.
