Pray For Baby Brother

My mom and baby brother are suppose to come visit me tomorrow. In the middle of the night last night baby brother called mom and told him he was sick and couldn't go. He has apparently been sick for a while, throwing up and diarrhea. Over the last few years, every member of my family has been sick. As you know, my father passed away back in March.

I really don't know what to think. It seems like over the last 4 years, I have just about lost every member of my family. We keep trying, but things aren't getting better. Please keep baby brother in your prayers. I have lost way to many people over the last 4 years. I don't know how I could handle any more. Apparently he is so weak he can't walk, can't support himself.

My brother is a good hearted soul. When asked what he wanted for Christmas, he said to be able to buy others presents.

Our family has dealt with a lot over the last 4 years. I am hoping things will stabilize. I have been attempting to basically support 3 households while my father's estate settles, which doesn't appear to be happening soon. Between sending my wife her allowance, paying my brother's bills, and trying to take care of me, it has been about more than I can handle. Through all of this, dealing with my illness has just made things tougher.

Please pray for all of us as I try to keep the faith.

Take Care,
 Steve

Man versus Redneck

I saw something wonderful today. Bear Grylls, that Man Versus Wild dude, got dumped in Alabama for one of his survival adventures. Seeing as I am from Alabama, I made some assumptions about what might occur, but first a little mood music.

Yea, I had to watch this show. I have kind of got tired of Ole Bear running around doing stupid stuff and getting paid for it, but I felt I had a pretty good idea where this episode would head. To save me some explaining, it would probably be better if you just watched Deliverance. Yea, I figured that good ole Bear would find him some good ole backwoods Alabama Redneck Ned Beatty type of lovin. Fortunate for Bear, but unfortunate for the viewer, it turned out to be pretty mild.

Bear didn't end up squealing like a pig, but he did capture and kill a live one. He said he did it humanely, but that part of the show didn't really work for me. Yea, if you are stuck out in the woods with no food, you might have to do something like that, but that doesn't mean I want to see it on my television. I kept waiting for the good ole boy who owned the pig to show up and the fireworks would begin, but it never happened.

He did run across someone doing some controlled burning. How did he respond? He rolled around in mud and then jumped across the 6 inch high flames. You da man Bear. I was expecting you to pull some MacGyver stuff and show how you could construct a fire truck from things readily available in the woods.

He also managed to climb down a hill made a pretty cool raft that looked kind of like an tube. He bent sticks into a circle, tied them together, and then wrapped a sheet of plastic or something around them. Pretty cool. It actually worked.

What I found ironic is that he was in Alabama and how tough he described the conditions. Yes, you will get hot in Alabama. No, you ain't going to freeze to death. No, you aren't going to have any trouble finding water. It was described as one of his tougher adventures, but I just don't get it. I have been for walks in the woods in Alabama. I have even got lost walking in the woods in Alabama. Where's my TV show?

American Pie, Good Song/Bad Song

I haven't done this in a while, but it is time to play good song/bad song again. The song here is American Pie, originally by Don McLean. Madonna made a remake of it.

Which one do you like and which one do you think makes me want to poke out my ear drums?

Dying To Be Free

No, this ain't got anything to do with t-shirts. I am getting pretty excited. My wife's allowance runs out next month and for the first time in over a decade I will truly be free. I gotta mail her allowance in about a week and then once more and poof, I am done.

I am doing fairly well. I have been concentrating on hermiting a lot more these days. I rarely talk with anyone and it seems to work fairly well. Yea, I know there is a lot of drama flying around, but hopefully the lawyers will handle that.

Yes, my father's estate stuff is gong to get very messy. His girlfriend is looking to get paid so it looks like there is going to be one huge legal battle. How will I handle it? Pay the lawyers and let them go for it.

I was going to update my profile pic. I cut my hair again recently and it is pretty short. I look just like Tom Cruise. Then I thought, hey, if I put this pic on my profile I will have people coming by asking for autographs, so I figured I would stick with the one I have got.

I had been sick for a few weeks after getting
back from Alabama. It was strange. I did great going there, while
there, and was coming back went my head started going funky. It stuck
with me for a quite a while.
Cutting my hair off makes my head feel cooler and a bit better.

The vet called the other day. It seems that it is time for Scooby's annual shots. They also asked that I bring a fecal sample in. I told them I would. It would be in the dog. If I had thought more clearly I would have realized they didn't specify from the dogs, but perhaps that would be a bit weird.

Well, I must get back to work, but I had to blog a bit. That song just came to mind and I had to post it. Yea, it is a strange one.

Take Care,
 Steve
